This stretch of the River Thames does not get much chance
to prove its potential each year due to the boat traffic
passing through Bray Lock, however, late evening fishing
produces some of the best catches as the fish move into
the area to feed over night.
The swims close to the car
park are the most favoured as they have been producing
some very good bags of chub with these ranging from “chublets”
to fish of 4-5lb. These pegs also produce mixed bags of
roach, dace and perch with fish to nearly 1lb.
TIP: When the river is in
flood use a block end feeder and quiver tip fished across
to the crown of the main flow, allowing the feeder to
come towards you into the slack water, this can produce
good bags of bream with fish from 4-7lb giving a bag weight
of approximately 20-30lb.
If you fish late evenings during the summer months you
can be rewarded by good bags of roach and dace from the
lock cut up to the end of the island. |
