Thorney Pool is our smallest water at around an acre in size, however it has produced some very impressive catches over the past few seasons since the restocking in 2010.
This water can get weedy in the summer months but some work with a marker will show up clear spots.
Thorney has one small island, many gullies and silty patches, and some nice marginal snags.
We now believe that the pool contains at least one fish that exceeds thirty pounds, twelve at 25lb plus, a small head of fish around the 20lb mark and a fair few doubles.
There are also a number of silver fish and tench present.
Thorney Pool is accessed through combination-locked gates and is on the same complex as Rodney Meadow and Mayfields Lake.
There are three swims on the lake that have behind-swim parking.
The toilet facilities are shared with both Rodney Meadow and Mayfields Lake and may be found in the first Rodney Meadow car park.
