Mayfields was our 'super' water of last season with some really impressive catches being reported. Mayfields lake contains an impressive stock for what is a relatively small water.

The carp population of Mayfields comprises over a dozen thirty pound carp, to a current lake record of 34lb 4oz along with nearly seventy fish over twenty pounds and substantial numbers of doubles. Although mainly fished for its carp mayfields also boasts bream to ten pounds and some nice tench.

The catfish introduced many years ago continue to evade capture but the baby catfish banked over the last two seasons prove they are still resident and getting on fine.

The largest catfish banked from mayfields is just over 26lb although rumours of a monster persist and several members claim to have witnessed waterfowl disappearing in a explosion of water.

Accessed through combination locked gates and situated several hundred metres from the main road Mayfields shares it's carpark and toilet facilities with neighbouring water Rodney Meadow.

As one of our most popular waters Mayfields can get busy at times and we suggest members consider Rodney Meadow as a second water.
