BOYER BULLETIN

The fishing as Farlows lake has been a bit patchy over the last few weeks and this week has been no different, don’t get me wrong there has still been plenty of fish coming out but you either had to have picked the right spot or be willing to work for your fish.

One angler who does both is Jim Shelley who was down with a pupil for a bit of tuition, after a fairly quiet weekend for anglers fishing Herons Point Jim set up on the ‘Front’ swim and proceeded to can it with several fish falling to their rods within an hour of setting up, the pair ended up with sixteen fish between them with the biggest being a twenty nine pound plus new PB for the angler benefitting from Jims advice, Nash baits did the business. Someone else who had a successful session was fifteen year old Ashley MacLean who used Tiger Nuts to good effect when fishing from the ‘Arm’, baiting small pva of crushed nuts with one on the hook Ashley banked nine fish during his session including a twenty seven pound Common and a twenty six pound eight ounce Linear.

The whole of the M25 bank has been closed off for the last week and will remain so for the next week as we are completely renovating the whole area. Heavy plant has been shifting tons of earth and the water at this end of the lake has turned a muddy brown in contrast to the gin clear water in most other area’s, so you can guess where all the fish have been showing. We apologise for the inconvenience but when completed the space for anglers will have been increased considerably.

On the Factory Bank Sian Banks caught her first fish when down for a session with her other half, given one rod to play with she managed to reel in a twenty three pound four ounce Common, we would have got a photo but she said she did not want to touch the “ Horrible Slimy Thing”!

Over at Orlitts Lake fish are still visiting the bank despite the prolific weed, the fish love it, its full of naturals and if anglers would spend some time learning to cope with it instead of asking us to get rid of it they would all have some photo’s for their album.

Mayfields Lake..........lots, as usual, Rodney Meadow is still producing fish although still mainly mid double and low twenty males but hey this waters so pretty its nice just to sit there.

Stockley Lake is not fishing well at the moment but there again nowhere is, Old Slade.........NOTHING!, Colnbrook gave up three mid twenties and a rake of doubles and  a few fish visited the bank at Bedfont Lake.

We are getting loads of enquiries about Harefield Lake which will not open until September 1st this season due to the work on the washings. We do not have aprice yet although when set it will obviously take into account the reduced season so please contact us at the end of August.
