BOYER BULLETIN

Well Winters here and its dark by five oclock and soon we will have the pleasure of going to work AND coming home in the dark. The numbers of anglers around the banks of  Farlows Lake have reduced as usual and as usual the bigger fish have started to show as they go on their pre-winter munch up.

Big news of the week is that Lakeside Café Swedish chef Hayley Noburgersbeforeeleventhirty has banked a thirty, fishing the bottom of the Smelly Bank using Mainlines Cell boilies Hayley was woken by a few bleeps in the middle of the night. Standing by here rods she noticed some movement on the rod tip and struck into a brick wall. Kiting to the left and trying for the sanctuary of some snags Hayley finally got the fish under control and the thirty one pound four ounce Common passed over the spreader. As the needle on the scales passed the thirty mark everybody on the lake knew that a big fish had been out and the customers in the café have been hearing the story of the great battle ever since.

The swims on Herons Point were booked up as usual and happiest angler of the weekend was John ‘Ferret’ Curling who fished from ‘Blankers’ and upped his personal best considerably with a twenty eight pound Common.

On the Road Bank Kelvin Reams used Heathrow Bait Services Supa Stench flouro’s for six fish to twenty five ounds three ounces and in the Pads Bay Brian Shepherd used Nashys Scopex Squid to bank himself a twenty seven pound three ounce Mirror and a twenty six pound Common.

Mr Ian Russell came down for a session with Terry Hearns dad Barry and the new team at Heathrow Bait services, whilst blanking himself it has to be said that Mr Russell spent most of his time making sure the others caught, which they did!.

Over at Bedfont Lake Richard Hopping used Heathrow Bait Services Red Indians to bank a twenty eight pound three ounce Mirror from the back bay and over at Mayfields Lake Robbie Snook did a short session with a bag of Mainline Fusion boilies and landed himself five fish to twenty four pounds eight ounces when the rest of the lake was unusually quiet.

There have been a few fish coming out of Rodney Meadow and a the numbers fishing the water reduce over the winter the fish have been spotted cruising the lake with more confidence.

On Thorney Pool Kieron Jones caught himself a twenty five pound three ounce Mirror on a ball of maggots whilst trying to temp a Tench and over at Stockley the going is fairly hard although half a dozen fish were reported over the week.

Colnbrook West is producing a few fish but its next door on Orlitts where the action has been taking place. The reduction in weed has revealed some nice feeding spots and ‘Carp Highways’ and a bait presented here has been producing some good fish including two thirty pluses in the shape of a thirty four pound six ounce Common known as ‘Popeye’ and a thirty pound eight ounce Common.

Orlitts Popeye at 34lb 6oz
