Boyer Leisure

Welcome to the Boyer Leisure Ltd website for the 2011 – 2012 season.

On the permits page you will find that you are now able to download and print a permit application form which you can post along with two passport photo’s when applying for membership at any of our waters.

You can also download the entire 2009 – 2010 brochure in PDF form which, to be fair, is pretty much the same as the website except on paper.

Another twelve months have passed and we have had a lot to deal with at all our venues.

Farlows Lake produced it’s first ‘forty’ in the shape of the ‘Pretty One’ which fell to a floater fished dog biscuit from a swim along the ‘Factory Bank’ and span the needle around to 41lb 9oz. A few weeks later she was banked again, this time from a swim on Herons Point, she weighed in at 42lb and, at the time of writing, is the current Farlows Lake record.

Farlows Lake will again play host to the opening round of the British Carp Angling Championships which this year will take place over the weekend commencing the first of April. 2010 was also the year when we learnt of the plans to transform Farlows Lake into a boating marina, plans were submitted and the Carp World went into overdrive. Articles and petitions were started both online and in the local and fishing press so thank you to all who got involved. The current situation is that the application has been withdrawn but is likely to be resubmitted with revisions and we will keep everybody up to date with any news as we receive it.

The Match Lake at Farlows has had another record year and we are now receiving applications for Match Bookings several years in advance. We continue to transfer Silvers from the main lake and match bags containing double figure Bream and Tench are now becoming a regular occurrence.

The Lakeside Bar and Cafe provide a welcome pre match breakfast and last year saw us begin to host the Canal Winter League Matches breakfasts with up to sixty anglers descending on Farlows at first light for their pre match grub.

Bedfont Lake has fished well with an increase of membership benefitting both the lakes residents and the catch reports. The bailiff team has made a good job of keeping the place tidy despite its open location and the lake continues to improve every season.

The Rodney Meadow complex is also home to Thorney Pool and Mayfields Lake, Mayfields Lake has fished well over the past season and is still probably our best winter water and Thorney Pool has produced its first thirty pound Carp with several other fish close on its heels. Rodney Meadow is now one of our most popular waters containing, at times, two fish over forty pounds with a fair head of thirty pluses and loads of twenties.

Colnbrook West
is another very popular water and has fished well despite breaking no records over the last year but neighbour Orlitts Lake has been going from strength to strength and there is a very strong rumour that the ‘scraper forty’ from a couple of seasons ago has been on the bank at over 45lb.

Stockley Lake has seen some nice weight gains from the fish stocked a few seasons ago and Harefield Lake can now boast three fish over forty pounds.

At Old Slade Lane Lake nothing has happened, it does however have the same membership year after year and as I have seen them myself I know whats in there, maybe we will get some pictures this season!

There are no price increases at any venue this season and we will keep anglers informed of any developments via our website and our bi weekly column in Carp Talk but for now may we wish you the best of luck for the coming season, Tight Lines.
