A 45 acre working gravel pit Harefield has always been known for its severe gravel bars and whilst the passing of time has reduced the severity of the bars this is still by no means an easy water. In 2005 we began a restocking programme for the water which culminated in a final sixty four Harefield Strain fish going home in November 2007. These fish have done incredibly well over the last few years and Harefield can boast fish to over forty pounds with a good head of thirties and a lot of fast growing twenties.
Harefield Lake has gained itself a reputation amongst the specimen Bream anglers with some fantastic catches being reported over the last few years. With fish to over fourteen pounds becoming almost commonplace and multiple catches of double figure fish being reported the increase in applied bait from anglers of all persuasions has benefited the lakes residents.
Harefield Lake has two car parks both of which may be accessed through security combination locked gates. The first of these is only a ‘pub chuck’ from the famous Horse & Barge pub and this car park also houses the anglers toilet facilities.
